Breakdown of ODA by Ministry in 2019

In 2019, the Min­istry of For­eign and Euro­pean Affairs man­aged and imple­ment­ed 81.59% of ODA, i.e. EUR343.31 mil­lion (of which EUR338.24 mil­lion was man­aged by the Direc­torate for Devel­op­ment Coop­er­a­tion and Human­i­tar­i­an Affairs). 

The remain­ing 18.41% came from con­tri­bu­tions made by the Min­istry of Finance (11.71%), sev­er­al oth­er min­istries (1.02%) and the share of Luxembourg’s con­tri­bu­tion to the EU’s gen­er­al bud­get – apart from the Euro­pean Devel­op­ment Fund (EDF) – allo­cat­ed by the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion for the pur­pos­es of devel­op­ment coop­er­a­tion in 2019 (EUR23.95 mil­lion, i.e. 5.69% of Luxembourg’s ODA).

We should note in this respect that Luxembourg’s assis­tance via all EU bod­ies, includ­ing Luxembourg’s con­tri­bu­tion to the EDF, amount­ed to EUR36.69 million.
