Luxembourg is recognised globally for its progressive financial ecosystem, thanks to its role as a sustainable finance hub and, as such, as a leader for inclusive and innovative finance.

The fifth edition of the African Microfinance Week (SAM), the sector’s flagship event on the African continent, took place from 18 to 22 October 2021 in Rwanda.

Together with the Ministry of Finance, Luxembourg Development Cooperation signed a new agreement with the House of Training for the establishment of training courses run by the Financial Technology Transfer Agency (ATTF) in the partner countries.

Since the 2015 Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development, aimed at better aligning incentives for the private sector with public development objectives, it has been widely recognised that it is now essential to harness the dynamism of the private sector in order to help implement the sustainable development goals globally.

The Digital for Development (D4D) concept seeks to promote the integration and funding of digital tools by those working in development assistance and humanitarian action, whether in regard, for example, to basic social services, major innovative development projects or as a tool for the formalisation and monitoring of development policies.
