The major global environmental changes, and in particular climate change, loss of biodiversity and desertification, are adversely impacting the human and natural systems on which human well-being and economic activities are based.

The promotion and protection of gender equality remains a priority of Luxembourg’s foreign policy, including in relation to development cooperation, where gender is at the core of the work done.

The Luxembourg government prioritises the promotion and defence of human rights through the various elements of its external action.
