With that aim, it launched the mul­ti-donor Human­i­tar­i­an Inno­va­tion Accel­er­a­tor (HIA) pro­gramme on 1 Feb­ru­ary 2023. On 29 June 2023, the top 16 projects (select­ed from 378 project pro­pos­als) met at the Pitch Event at Lux­ex­po the Box in Lux­em­bourg-Kirch­berg to show­case their solu­tions. An inno­va­tion com­mit­tee has select­ed eight win­ning projects that will be sup­port­ed and scaled up dur­ing the first half of 2024. As the main donor, Lux­em­bourg is sup­port­ing four projects (Nurotech, Spee­tar, Blea­glee and WAS­DI) that are at the mature stage, through a finan­cial enve­lope made avail­able to the WFP.
